Data from more than 170,000 GBP list sees a substantial increase in travel and consumer spending in March.
, / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – Rio SEO, the leading provider of all-in-one local marketing platform in an attempt to increase online visibility, unveiled last month’s national consumer search behavior which revealed the first consecutive increase in all verticals in total searches, total business listing views, and total clicks on month-to-month (MoM) business listing in 2022.
Hotel and healthcare brands have seen the biggest increase in Google Search trends month after month. Hotels saw a 27% increase in total views, a 31% increase in total searches, a 17% increase in website conversions and a 31% increase in clicks for directions, MoM. In addition, healthcare brands saw a 24% increase in total views, a 27% increase in total searches, a 22% increase in website conversions, and an increase of 28% in clicks for directions.
According to Park Hotels & amp; Resorts, occupancy for forty-eight Park hotels across the nation was up 63%, a substantial increase of more than ten percentage points compared to February, which continued Rio SEO’s findings. The group’s bookings for the rest of 2022 tripled in March, an increase of 200,000 rooms per night, from around 63,000 rooms in February.
All eight verticals studied collectively saw a month-on-month increase in local search behavior, averaging the following:
“We are seeing the impact of the omicron variant lesson as almost every vertical and metric has risen from the downward trend during the months of January and February,” said Ryan Weber, director of customer success, Rio SEO. “One of the biggest increases across all verticals was clicks for directions, showing consumers that they are willing and able to personally engage with shopping, food, and travel. In addition, March typically sees increases in travel and food outside with the break of spring and March Madness. “
In addition, Rio SEO has reviewed trends from year to year, and has seen continued gains in listing views and searches in most verticals. Hotels, service businesses, fast-service restaurants, healthcare brands, and seated restaurants have collectively seen an increase in both total search and the total opinions. Collectively, those verticals saw:
“Rising prices for essential goods such as food, energy, and travel costs may have contributed to the year-over-year decline seen in retail search metrics,” Weber added. “It will be interesting to see how local search trends and spending are affected in the coming months by inflation, volatile oil prices, and rising interest rates. “The economy has seen a lot of momentum recently and consumer confidence appears to be backed by strong jobs. We have high hopes that local businesses will be able to thrive in 2022.”
