Google’s John Mueller told one publisher that “there may be just no SEO solution” to your Google rankings. He said sometimes it’s not a technical or link-building problem, sometimes it has to do with your content and your product and that “the website strategy is now obsolete.”
John Mueller said this on Reddit when I was asked “If I hire an experienced SEO service, could they find out what’s wrong with my site and help me improve it?” Here is the full question:
I spend $$$ and they just came back to me a few days later and sent me a checklist that you can find online completely without help. I’ve been gutted, Years have passed and I’m still blogging on my site, but don’t know why I don’t rank well. If I hire an expert or SEO service, how do I know which ones are quality and not a deceptive trick like the last time?
John Mueller replied fully, saying:
I guess the only strategy here would be for your content to talk about something else, a service, or a product that doesn’t expire. The deal is that I suspect a lot of people reading this are writing content on products and servers not outdated but still also seeing their Google Search traffic see a similar gradual decline?
