The NBCLA and Telemundo52 Digital Team is a combination of diverse and talented individuals. They are responsible for managing the digital channel network and interacting with fans around the world. Their talents and interests include producing, writing, editing, conducting, broadcasting and directing.

Chelsea Hylton

Telemundo is a Spanish-language television network. It is owned by NBC Owned Television Stations, part of NBCUniversal. The network airs movies produced by American studios and Latino-themed programming. In addition to the standard entertainment program, it also produces morning and afternoon news programs.

Telemundo’s network feed originates from a technical operations facility shared with Comcast in Universal City, CA. This building also houses Telemundo’s master control operations. During its afternoon schedule, the network offers reruns of old Telemundo-produced telenovelas.

Telemundo offers English subtitles for its prime time programming. This is run over the CS2 caption channel in high definition. During the start time line, a special on-screen graphic shows the program.

The Telemundo52 Digital Team has an impressive number of content creators. One of the main contributors is digital content guru Chelsea Hilton. He is a native of Inglewood, Calif. and holds dual degrees in journalism and Spanish. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Spanish at California State University, Northridge. While at CSUN, he was editor of Iguana magazine.

When it comes to content creation, he is a proud member of the Telemundo52 Digital Team. Among his many accomplishments, he has been part of several projects aimed at creating and promoting diverse cultures at NBCUniversal. Among other things, he is a member of the Unidos Global Advisory Committee, which promotes diversity within NBCUniversal. With over ten years of experience under his belt, he has made a name for himself in the world of Spanish language media and entertainment.

Gabriela Gutierrez

Whitney Irick

Whitney Ashton Irick is the Manager of Audience Growth for NBCUniversal Local. An award-winning journalist and self-proclaimed journalist with a keen eye for digital trends, a deep understanding of social media and traffic analytics, and a desire to better understand and serve audiences.

Prior to working on NBC’s audience development team, Whitney was news director for NBCLA and Telemundo52. In addition to hard news, politics, crime and the police, he covered the entertainment industry, including celebrity, arts and entertainment, and worked as a news reporter during Hollywood awards season.

Whitney holds a master’s degree from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He is also a print, online and broadcast journalism graduate of Pepperdine University.

Génesis is a bilingual digital expert for NBC Los Angeles and Telemundo 52. He has 10+ years of experience in bilingual media including writing, reporting, social media management, PR, marketing and SEO. His work has been broadcast nationally on other NBCUniversal stations. He also worked as a digital producer at NBC San Diego and KTLA.

Chelsea Hylton

Chelsea Hylton is a Mexican-Jamaican from Inglewood. He joined NBCLA as a summer intern while attending USC getting his master’s in journalism. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was a Posse Scholar and double majored in Journalism and Spanish, with a minor in Gender & Women’s studies. Clara Ramirez

Clara Ramirez is a Senior Digital Producer for Los Angeles’ Telemundo station 52. She holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from California State University, Northridge. Before joining local NBC, he worked as a Digital Producer for KMEX, Univision Los Angeles, and La Opinion. Clara is from Colombia and has worked and volunteered in various journalism projects in Europe and the Philippines. He speaks Spanish, English, and Italian.

Michael Duarte

Michael J. Duarte is a sports writer and reporter with NBCLA. Known for his sharp wit in sports reporting and in-depth sports features, Duarte is the 2019 Southern California Sports Journalist of the Year and currently covers the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Rams, and more.

Alysia Gray Painter
