The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce will host Community State 2021 as a newly designed virtual event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday The keynote speaker is Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall. Rick Baldridge, president and CEO of Viasat Inc., Steve Hendren, vice president and general manager of TaylorMade Golf Co., and Win Cramer, CEO of JLab, will also speak. Join business, civic and community leaders to discuss the state of the Carlsbad community and share ideas for planning for a successful future. ‘Hey, Bolder Expo’ invites exhibitors
First “Heureuy & amp; Bolder Expo ”is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 18 at St. Elizabeth Seton, 6628 Santa Isabel. The free event from the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce will educate and raise awareness of issues that will affect us all as we age. The event will provide information about products and services that are designed to benefit life at all ages. The speaker will discuss topics from financial planning and navigating Medicare to earth safety and adult learning. The exhibition will offer information and tips about successful aging. Director of the name of the children’s museum
Alex Goodman, the new recipient of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce’s “40 Under 40” award, has served as director of philanthropy at the San Diego Children’s Museum of Invention. Goodman came to the museum from New Village Arts, where he worked for six years as managing director. His artistic background includes La Jolla Playhouse, where he spent 31/2 years as audience development manager and then corporate relations manager. He was appointed to the “40 Under 40” list as the leader of the past, and someone who has already made an impact. Goodman is also on the board of the San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition, the North County Arts Network and the North County Philanthropy Council. Visit sdcdm.org.

ACE courses aim at fitness inclusiveness
The American Board of Exercise offers the first course on how sports experts and health coaches can build a more inclusive fitness industry. The online course, “Taking Action with ACE: Training Equity, Diversity and Involvement as a Training Professional,” will better equip sports professionals and health coaches to support diverse communities, use an inviting environment to boost client engagement and retention, and become advocates which is better for the fitness industry.
