Rio SEO and Forsta Enterprise Local Retail Search Insights white paper reveals compelling search discovery and conversion trends throughout the first half of 2022.

SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) October 24, 2022

New in-house research by Rio SEO and Forsta found that retailers’ search discovery metrics, including views and searches for Google Business Profile (GBP) listings, rebounded in the second quarter of 2022 after a first challenging quarter Retailers collectively have encountered numerous external factors, including health-related and macroeconomic headwinds, to overcome in the first half of the year. This includes lingering concerns about COVID-19, rising inflation and, in turn, fewer discretionary funds available to fuel the economy. Despite these myriad concerns, consumer interest in engaging with retailers grew substantially in the second quarter compared to the first quarter, as shown in the white paper.

Additionally, Rio SEO and Forsta saw a surprising increase in business listing conversion shares for retailers in the second quarter compared to the first quarter, including total clicks on business listings, website clicks, clicks for driving directions and clicks to make a phone call. The most significant increases in conversion actions were total clicks and clicks for driving directions. This points to continued interest in retail consumption, despite global and domestic headwinds.

“Retail brands were perhaps the industry that faced the most adversity in the first half of the year,” said Mick Wilson, vice president of customer success. “However, our research with Forsta shows that retailers continue to see growth in terms of local search discovery and conversions despite concerns about a recession. Through these findings, retail brands can see how their own performance compared to other national retailers in the first half of 2022. , explore some of the macroeconomic factors that affected retailer performance and discover proven tips to improve the local experience for users who are actively searching for products and stores as well.”
