The author draws his attention to the question of international trade and the implications of European experience on American markets. He doubts that the European Union can successfully manage its current agenda. The US was the primary voice pushing Europeans to increase their regulation of industries such as finance and banking without agreeing to additional trade barriers. The European Union is trying to increase its market share in the US and it would require a massive boost of trade deficits to do so.

The author does not believe that the European experience will have a significant effect on the US economy. The author believes that the European Union’s recent proposal on the budget deficit will not have a negative effect on the US stock market, as the US is in the midst of a recession and is already suffering from a large trade deficit. The US is also in the midst of an economic “catch-up” to catch up in recent years. The author sees the catch-up as more of a continuation of past trends than an event that dramatically and negatively affects US markets.

The author sees positive economic issues for the US in the coming months. He sees the opportunity for stock markets to return and experience short-term gains as “Achilles heel” of economic recovery. He sees the European experience as a big part of this. This will help the US economy recover from the downward trend of the last quarter and experience over-trend growth in the coming months.

The Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University invites experienced national security policy professionals to apply for various teaching positions in an exciting new hybrid Executive Masters of National Security Policy for middle-career students seeking to advance in their leadership roles in the national security policy realm. in the public and private sectors. Selected candidates will work with the existing Duke faculty to build an ambitious new program and set up the new degree curriculum. They will also have the opportunity to participate in the American Grand Strategy and Counterterrorism and Public Policy Fellows programs, and collaborate with the Sanford School National Security Faculty on related policies and research projects and proposals.

Applicants should pursue a master’s degree or higher and substantial professional experience in such areas of national security policy and policy as defense, diplomacy, development, leadership, ethics, cyber, technology, terrorism, biological threats and / or the global environment. The experience of creating and executing applied learning experiences such as simulations, war games, table-top exercises, and leading client-based research programs is a plus, as is online learning experience. Policy research and writing are interesting, but not required.

The Center for Democracy & amp; Technology (CDT) is looking for an experienced lawyer to lead the CDT’s project on consumer protection and data. The Director of Privacy & amp; Data Project will lead a growing team of 5+ consultants focused on changing law and business practices to protect the privacy of consumers and workers, prevent discriminatory use of data, and promote responsible use of AI. Key workstreams include: advocating for meaningful federal data protection legislation, direct-to-company advocacy to improve company data practices, collaborating with federal and state agencies to promote effective oversight and regulation, and overseeing specific subsidy projects focused on health privacy, work, privacy, privacy Algorithm-driven decision-making systems for people with disabilities in other historically marginalized communities. Call for Submission: Now Accepted Articles to Consider in SIPR Spring 2021 Print Issue

The Stanford International Policy Review invites submission of graduate students, policy practitioners, academics, and other professionals for its spring 2021 peer-reviewed printing. SIPR publishes two issues per year, in winter and in spring. SIPR publishes articles, comments, policy memos and topic letters, as well as book reviews on international policy topics.

The Spring 2021 theme theme is the future of internationalism. SIPR is looking for articles that provide insightful policy analysis that address the gaps and opportunities of the current international system. We invite authors to consider issues such as the post-pandemic liberal international order, the United Nations on its 75th anniversary, and shared global challenges (e.g.

The SORD Department is one of three in the Center for Naval Warfare Studies at Naval War College, the others being the War Gaming Department and the Stockton Center for International Law. It is home to a number of specialized centers, institutes, and advanced research groups that foster deeper levels of research, analysis, and learning on topics of critical interest to the Navy: the China Maritime Studies Institute, Cyber and Innovation Policy Institute, Russia Maritime Studies Institute, and the Halsey, Mahan, and Brodie groups. The faculty of the SORD Department employs varied and multidisciplinary approaches to national security issues, generating new knowledge for the Navy and the Department of Defense. The faculty of the department is educated in a range of social sciences, humanities, sciences and critical languages, and the faculty consists of civilians and retired and active military officers.

Advanced Research Groups (ARPs). There are a number of ARPs within SORD that produce applied research and analysis to a series of regional, operational, and strategic challenges that pose naval and joint strength now and in the future. These research programs involve group work, individual study, faculty collaboration, wargaming, workshops, and research trips to national labs, operational commands, the Pentagon, and a wide range of other DoD, academic, and private sector organizations. Most of the groups include a mix of full-time faculty and volunteer resident students from the college who contribute to the ARPs research for their master’s degree and JPME academic credit. From discovering emerging war technologies to developing operational concepts and strategies, ARPs provide student scientists with hands-on experience that can be applied to their careers. In addition, ARPs provide direct input to key planners and decision-makers in the U.S. Naval Force, via DoD and U.S. Interagency.

Qualifications and competencies. Candidates must have an advanced degree and experience to evaluate and evaluate strategic, operational and tactical war concepts. A master’s degree is required, a Ph.D. is highly preferred. Desired attributes include: knowledge of US and / or foreign navies and common technical skills and concepts of operations, or equivalent practical experience in advancing technology and functional skills; Knowledge of naval and joint wars in all phases of operations from peacetime to high-end combat; and / or a background in nuclear issues and strategic deterrence.
